Toucountouna

is a town, arroundissement and commune in the Atacora Department in the Western North of Benin. The commune covers 1600 kilometers square. The commune is limited in North by Tanguieta, South by Natitingou, East by Kouande and West by Boukombe.
The population of this Commune was 30 154 habitants in 2002. Waaba, Natimba, and Peulh people are the different ethnics group in Toucountouna. The people in Toucountouna are mostly traditional there are 86.9% of traditional religion, 7.0% of Catholics, muslims 2.7%, protestants 0.6%.
The commune counts 03 arrondissements like Toucountouna, Tampégré, and Kouarfa.
